Beginning January 13, 2025, Dr. Thomas Ficho will be seeing exclusively concierge internal medicine patients.
Dr. Videsha Kulkarni and Rebecca Romano, NP, will continue practicing in the traditional model, but all providers will remain part of the same professional practice.
What is Concierge Medicine?
Dr. Ficho has elected to proceed with a concierge model for his medical practice. Concierge medicine allows patients to receive the personalized, attentive care they have always hoped for, with much-improved access and time to accomplish their goals at the office visit. Though Dr. Ficho has been providing a high level of personalized care for many years, he will now ba able to focus even more on prevention and wellness with his patients. Instead of spending significant time in a waiting room, you will be seen promptly. To accomplish these goals total patient census will fall by 75% to make more time available for the patients who enroll in the concierge practice.
Instead of being preoccupied with note-taking and an inordinately large number of patients, Dr. Ficho will have more time to discuss your health. You will have time to focus on the things you worry about, like staying well, avoiding disease, and doing the right things to reduce risk for the most dreaded disease of aging: dementia. With recent medical advancements, there are new tests that can predict your risk for Alzheimer’s and provide information to reduce your risks for several health conditions. This study has just been FDA-approved and will likely become available in the next several months.
These enhanced benefits are achieved by doctors choosing to limit the number of patients seen at the practice. Instead of waiting weeks, or even months, to see a doctor, you will typically be seen the same day or the next day. You will have more time with Dr. Ficho than you already do. To receive this high level of service, patients pay an annual fee.
